This is my first post everyone! I'm very proud, so I baked myself some cookies. This is my favorite version of chocolate chip cookies = warm from the oven, soft and cakey, and just super delicious! This recipe is from a cookbook that has lots of great recipes involving chocolate. I also like to double the recipe because these cookies vanish in a matter of seconds.

These cookies are also really delicious because the cookie has a lovely vanilla taste that pairs really great with chocolate. So for these cookies you'll need:
  • 200g all purpose flour
  • 180g chocolate chips
  • 100g sugar
  • 90g butter, room temperature
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt

Always remember to preheat the oven, this time to 180°C/ 350°F. Combine flour and baking powder and set aside. Then, whip together butter and sugar, but try not to beat it too long because your cookies are going to be flat. To that, add an egg, vanilla and salt; beat again, just until combined. Add dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Try not to overmix, because you'll overwork the flour and make your cookies tough. Add chocolate chips and fold in with a wooden spoon or a spatula.

Use an ice-cream scoop, or two tablespoons and make little dough balls. Space them evenly on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, and bake between 13 and 15 minutes.

When they're done, remove from baking sheet immediately, let cool for 5-10 minutes, and serve warm with milk or coffee. Enjoy!
